Sammy Porter with his 'Lovejuice' brand and amazing production is at the forefront of all things house at present.
GW Harrison can be seen on the biggest stages over the world and his Abode association has made him a legend on the scene.
Loeca is the golden girl for ‘Defected’ at present performing worldwide for the brand.
Cash Only the governor for 'Divine Sounds’, he and Mrs Divine have catapulted the label from strength to strength.
Siggy if you’re a regular, absolutely smashed it out the park last year and if you follow the cooler side of the scene you’ll see her playing to stars at The Brits or at Pikes.
Sam Dungate, 'Mr Ibiza', every year says 'it’s my last season’. You’ll catch Sam on a boat for Clockwork Orange, in O’Beach or warming ups for Claptone in a super club.
Harry Bowen, an Essex based DJ and producer. It's not an Essex party with Harry on the lineup.
Beave, a local lad going big! Smashing it for brands like Lovejuice, Mansion and Ibiza rocks. A top producer following in the footsteps of some huge local talent.
Dan B and The Greek, in between co running the Music brand these two have been quietly expanding their C.V’s playing regular sets in Ibiza and all over the Essex scene.
Arena 2 will again be undercover this year and is hosted by the world famous ‘Slipback In Time’ playing the best in Old skool, Jungle, Acid house and club classics. This lineup is probably the strongest of its kind:
Fabio & Grooverider are simply the dons, from the hazy days of Rage these guys are the originators of the scene. When was the last time you can remember seeing these two on a lineup in this area.
Slipmatt ‘The Godfather Of Rave’, he’s everywhere and one thing is for sure you’ll never ever hear one person say he’s not played a truly memorable set!
Alex P - P should stand for ‘Party’ because he’s been doing it since before most of you were born and truly is an ‘Ibiza Legend’.
- Gozzy, anyone who frequented the scene through the 90’s will remember Tel smashing it up in the likes of ‘Oscars’ , ‘Bagleys' or at 'United Dance’.
Phaze One is a lively producer and DJ from Colchester with a past that’s glittered with appearances at the likes of ‘Epidemik', ‘Bagleys’ and Properfest to name a few.
Decibel is more known on the London scene playing at the likes of 'Ministry for Future’ with legends like Grooverider or Danny Byrd, one to watch at this event.
Boy-d has been playing over 30 years at the likes of 'Clockwork Orange', ‘Oscars’ and you’ll catch him on Saturdays at the likes of 'Cafe del Mar’.
MC Mad P - part of the legendary ‘Top Buzz’, he’s one of the biggest and best on the scene and creator of the jungle techno sound.
MC Chalkie White last but definitely not least. Chalkie's been entertaining since entertainment began, the life and soul of any party.
Arena 3 is also under cover and here we are providing you with the best in its class in ‘Tech House’.
Evie is one of the biggest up and coming DJs of this genre. She’s got one serious CV, ‘Paradise', 'Do not sleep’, ‘Kaluki’, 'Radio 1’, ‘Abode’. It's mind blowing!
Saffron Stone needs little intro. Saff has spent the summer smashing the 'Amnesia Terrace’ with 'Sonny Fodera and Danny Howard’. She’s a regular at the world famous Warehouse Project and with new tunes like ‘I wanna dance’ she’s a true queen of the underground.
Griff, a DJ producer and truly crazy guy! Flick on to @griffartist to understand how good this guy is at producing. You’ll regularly see Griff in Hi or at Pikes through the summer.
Lucy Crane - big on the scene and I doubt you’ll have been to party without Lucy gracing the decks. With ‘Lovejuice’, ‘Dance on Arrival’ and 'Mambo classics' she’s everywhere at present.
Anna Chatt may have only been on the scene a short while, she’s fast appearing on events all over Europe. From ‘Maravilosa’, ‘Itaca’ and ‘Plastik’ she’s playing at the right venues to become a star of the future!
Magdi, big on the scene locally, his more minimal approach is getting sets all over. With stages like ‘Ministry of sound’ and brands like 'Tribe’, ‘Groundedsnds' and ‘Lunr', he won’t disappoint.
Cal & Ollie are two Colchester based artists - Cal Venner and Ollie Armstrong. Both these guys are at the forefront of all things house in the area.
Joe Friend - Joe’s track last year, the remix of the legendary ‘sound of eden’ by Shades Of Rhythm’ smashed up dance floors all over Europe.
Nudzy again last but not least, has performed at the huge events including ‘Forbidden Forrest’ and ‘Hideout Festival’.
Day 2 - Sunday 4th May - Family day
Musik in the park are excited to welcome you and your family to our family friendly event with a packed line up of great live singers, bands and DJ's as well as a street food market and a fairground area for you all to enjoy!
Main Stage - under our huge big top tent has something truly special coming to Colchester in probably the biggest twist 'Musik Is The Answer' has ever produced. We have had some weird and wonderful acts over the years but this year we thought we would do something a little different.
Our headliner for the event is ‘BOYZLIFE ’. Off the back of an amazing world tour ‘Keith Duffy’ & ‘Brian McFadden will be performing the greatest hits of ‘Boyzone' and ‘Westlife’. With 20 UK number ones between them, these two will be belting out hits at the end of this two day festival extravaganza.
The main stage will be very diverse for the day providing nothing but entertainment for all ages.
We have the legendary ‘Sweet Female Attitude ’ performing ‘Flowers’. The best Oasiz tribute banging out hits like ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Don’t look back in anger' and more. Leanne Louise is fresh from the ‘Radio 1 dance anthems’ studio. Rising star 11 year old DJ Tommy K, Kisstory DJ ‘Sam Dungate’, Mr disco ‘Darryl Wright ’ and the legendary Chalkie White will be hyping up the crowd with their antics. We'll also be including an amazing sound and light show with a huge LED screen and dancers. This is something never seen in the city before!
Arena 2 - House stage with a much cooler vibe for the Sunday, with some huge acts.
Bobby & Steve , Bobby has been on the scene from the beginning pioneering soulful house. With brands like 'Groove Odyssey’ and ‘Garage city’ the boys have played with the biggest names in the game including ‘Master at work’, Frankie knuckles and Kerri Chandler to name a few.
Max & Aston father and son, are regulars with their bumpy house sound. Aston is Centreforce resident and the pair can be found at events like ‘La Fiesta’, ‘Foward motion’ and ‘SunceBeat’.
Danny Decibel is a regular on the disco and garage scene. You’ll often catch Danny at the likes of ‘Future’, ‘Ministry’ or 'Pure garage’ in Xoyo.
Miss Ray can be heard weekly on House FM and is a regular at ‘Groove Odyssey’, she’s the lady of all things funky.
Gozzy after tearing up raves in the early 90’s he moved on to a softer sound and could be heard on Fridays at ‘Pacha' in the legendary ‘Funky room’, you’ll catch Terry on a Saturday in Ibiza at the world famous ‘Cafe del Mar’.
Floyd & Mark Nevern are regulars and have both been playing the house scene since their heydays. Both have a huge CV and boast events new and old including the legendary Mangled nights.
Arena 3 - Soul Sunday - Think Caister Soul weekend in Colchester.
Bigger is probably the biggest name on the circuit for soul music lovers. Anyone in the scene will remember Colin from events like 'Lacy Lady’ and 'Smooth Grooves’, a genuine legend of the scene.
Bobby & Steve, Bobby will be going back to his roots here and we can’t wait to hear his vast repertoire of soul and funk.
Dave Malone has been a pioneer on the soul scene since day dot. If you’ve followed soul music in the area you will have heard Dave with his eclectic sound.
Les Broughton is one of Colchester’s finest Funksters, oozes soul in every set and is still a regular on the scene.
Dean Hurd is a DJ well known on the Ipswich scene.
Bazz & Little K have been keeping things cool in Colchester with regular events at the diverse ‘Roots & Groove cafe’.
Craig Royal you will know from the Three wise monkeys events, an experienced soul DJ with a royal touch.
My Cool Love, with a name like this you have to be good and everything..
Add into the mix for the two days an array of bars and food stalls, hot drinks, ice creams, sweats, hair braiding, face painting, festival tattoos and Lisa’s world famous hat stall, this will be a true festival vibe like nothing else and right on your doorstep.
